Swarna Jayanti Fellowships 2018 for Young Scientists

Swarna Jayanti Scholarship 2018 -Indian Government had instituted a Programme, "The Swarna jayanti Scholarships Programme" to acknowledge India’s fiftieth year of Independence.  Swarna jayanti Scholarships Programme 2018 invites applications from young scientists.

Under this initiative, a selection number of Adult scientists are given special Support and encouragement to enable them to study basic research in frontier areas of science and technology. The scholarships are scientist specific and not institution specific, very selective and have close academic monitoring.

Eligibility Criteria for Swarna Jayanti Scholarship 2018

Educational Qualification

The Candidates should have qualified PhD in Engineering/Science/Medicine and should not be drawing Fellowship from any other Scheme of GOI.

Scientists should be active in the frontier area of science and engineering with outstanding contributions in the form of research publications and/ or patents, peer recognition from scientific community, awards etc. in his/ her area of research.

Swarna Jayanti Scholarship is available to Indian Nationals having a regular stage in a recognized Indian research/academic organization; the institute/organization should also undertake financial and other management responsibilities of the project throughout the five year term in case scholarship is awarded to the scientist.

Age Criteria

The fellowship is open to scientists between 30 to 40 years of age as on 31st December 2017. Applications from candidates who have completed 40 years of age as on or before 31st December 2017 will not be considered
