Government of India had instituted a scheme titled Swarnajayanti Fellowship for young scientists was instituted by the INSA-Indian National Science Academy to give budding scientists the impetus and the encouragement to carry out further studies and advanced research work in the field of science and technology. The Swarnajayanti Fellowship Scheme 2018 is doing National level short-listing, are given a fetching fellowship and substantial financial support towards their research programme for a maximum period of five years.

Swarnajayanti fellowship Scheme 2018 are Start to magnificent India youngest scientists, in the age group of Minimum 30 years and maximum 40 years, with proven track record in six research areas that include: Mathematics, Geology, Biology Chemistry, Physics and Engineering.

Eligibility Criteria for Swarnajayanti Fellowship Scheme 2018

Educational Qualification

The Applicant should have Qualified Ph.D in Science/ Engineering/ Medicine and should not draw his Fellowship from any other Scheme of GOIandApplicant should be carrying out research work in a nascent subject of science or technology and should have published research papers.

Age limit

Eligible Candidates age should be between Minimum 30 year and Maximum 40 years.

Residential Criteria: - The fellowship is open to Indian Nationals residing in India or abroad.

Swarnajayanti Fellowship Scheme Price of Amount

A fellowship grant of Rs. 25, 000 per month for 5 years to those candidates who are not engaged in the regular course of employment.

The fellowship grant is reduced to Rs. 10, 000 /-per month for candidates who are engaged in the regular course of employment.

Financial help or aid in the form of grants for equipment’s, travel and communication will also be provided.

Swarnajayanti Fellowship Scheme Duration

The period of the Swarnajayanti Fellowship will be for a maximum period of 5 years and will not be extended under any circumstance.
