AICTE National Doctoral Fellowship Scheme (NDF)

Objective

To encourage research culture in All India Council for Technical Education-AICTE recognized Institutions. Admitting full time meritorious research fellows by providing research fellowship who wants to seek get admission into Ph.D. in All India Council for Technical Education-AICTE recognized Technical Institutes/University Departments for carrying out research in thrust areas as listed in Annexure-I. To nurture talents for technical research. To promote collaborative research between Institute and Industries leading to start-ups.

Eligibility Criteria for National Doctoral Fellowship Scheme

Educational Qualification for National Doctoral Fellowship Scheme

The applicants must have obtained average of 7.5 on the scale of 10 or equivalent at both B.E/B.Tech/B.Pharm and M.E/M.Tech/M.Pharm.

Age Criteria

The applicant’s minimum age should be 30 years as on 31st August of year.

Age Relaxation of 5 years would be applicable to candidates belonging to SC/ST, women and physically challenged category.

National Doctoral Fellowship Scheme Duration of the Programme

The duration of the programme shall be for a period of 3 Years. No more extension will be approved, however, increase by 6 months in special cases with the recommendation of Institute and approval of NNC-National Nodal Centre. More extension of 6 months may be give on the recommendations with the approval of AICTE.

Scholarship Reservation

Scholarship Reservation shall be as per Central Reservation Policy i.e. 15% to Scheduled Castes-SC applicants, 7.5% to Scheduled Tribes-ST applicants and 27% to Other Backward Class-OBC applicants (NCL only), and will be observed at National level.

Disbursement of the Funds

The applicant will be given the scholarship of Rs. 28,000/- per month + House rent allowance wherever the hostel all facility/Institute accommodation is not capable as per the rates of Ph.D. merit notified by MHRD, Department of Higher Education (Technical Section-I) Contingency approved will be admissible at the rate of Rs.15,000/- per annual.

Processing Methodology

Applicants detail will be rectified by the NNC-National Nodal Centre of All India Council for Technical Education-AICTE as per the functions and duties of NNC-National Nodal Centre.
