Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC Students

Pre-Matric Scholarship to the SC Students studying in classes 9th and 10th

Pre-Matric Scholarship to the SC Students studying in classes IX & X  is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme and implemented through State Government and UT administration. The Objectives of the scheme are:

The objective of the programme to Support parents of “SC children for the education" of their wards studying in classes IX and X so that the incidence of drop-out, especially in the transition from the elementary to the secondary level is minimized, and

To improve participated of “SC student in classes IX and X of the pre-matric level", so that they perform better and have a better chance of progressing to the post-matric stage of education.

The Schemes will be applicable for education in India only and will be awarded by the Government of the State/Union Territory to which the students belong i.e. where he is domiciled.

CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY:

The student should belong to Scheduled Caste.

His/ her Parent/Guardians income should not exceed Rs. 2 lakh per annum.

Both Hers/ His should not be getting any type of other Centrally-funded Pre-Matric programms.

She/ he should be a regular, full-time student studying in a Government School or in a School approved by Govt. or a Central/State Board of Secondary Education.

Fellowship for studying in any class will be available for only one year. Whether the applicant has to repeat a class, He/ She would not get a scholarship for that class for a second (or subsequent) year.

Income Ceiling:

The Programme will be reward to the student whose Parent’s/Guardians income from all sources doesn't, more than Rs.2, 00,000/- P.A (Rupees two lakh only).

How to apply for Pre-Matric Fellowship:

The Programme will be implemented through State Governments/U.T. Administrations. All the Governments State/UT Administrations will, at the desired time, appreciate issued the programms and invite registration by issuing an advertisement in the local language, in the leading newspapers of the State and by their relevant websites and other media outfits. The students should submit the completed application to the prescribed authority, as mentioned below before the last date prescribed for receipt of applications.

State Governments would prescribe a suitable registration form in the local language and place it on its websites. School authorities will get these forms filled by the applicable applicant and send them to Block/District level authorities. The State Governments/UT Administrations will delegate powers to sanction marit under the programme to appropriate District/Block level authorities/ Heads of Institution.
